The High Voltage power supply component of the KWS-1 is Collins part number 428A-1. This unit includes the 1N2637 diode rectifier replacement for the 866-A tube
type rectifiers (the two large black devices in picture to the right). Interestingly the KWS-1 was originally advertised as the 30L-1 in a advertisement appearing in the 1955 ARRL Handbook. Art Collins
changed the name to reflect the kilowatt power and Single Sideband hence the KWS-1. Something over 500 of these units were manufactured.
