The SX-115
is one of the more desirable Hallicrafters receivers in
collectors market, its popularity exceeded only by the
very rare SX-88 ($3000 08/00). This triple conversion
receiver began the trend to a smaller package and less
weight (44 Lb.) Looking at the construction of this receiver
- it is a much tighter package. The upper right sub chassis
is the 3 mixer and 3rd. conversion oscillator. It looks
like the triple conversion was a after thought in this
receiver. The unit includes 5 steps of selectivity .5
to 5 KHz. AM,CW, SSB modes.
