My original station (see the Family Page) was a Viking I. The major differance between the Viking I and II is the Viking II was more TVI proof. Since I wanted to own a Viking and be able to twist all of those knobs on tune up I got a Viking II to avoid the TVI problems. This was a well built transmitter that used 6146's in the final. (I think the Viking I used a different tube). Below is the Viking 122 VFO. AND, no I did not use the VFO when I was a novice. The FCC had teeth then.
