My original station (see
the Family Page) was a Viking I. The major differance
between the Viking I and II is the Viking II was more
TVI proof. Since I wanted to own a Viking and be able
to twist all of those knobs on tune up I got a Viking
II to avoid the TVI problems. This was a well built transmitter
that used 6146's in the final. (I think the Viking I used
a different tube). Below is the Viking 122 VFO. AND, no
I did not use the VFO when I was a novice. The FCC had
teeth then.
