The 30L-1
is a small amplifier that uses four 811 tubes in the final.
The amplifier fits the S-Line package
form factor and was the first of the high quality small desktop
amplifiers. There are several modifications that will take
the amplifier to 800 watts output. (Power supply modification
and the addition of 572's in place of the 811's). The tuning
of the amplifier is quite simple. The two controls are Load
and Tune. Both are set to deliver a "0" reading on the amplifier
multimeter. See the meter picture below. The RF deck is nicely
engineered. If you remove the cover shield the High Voltage
(HV) is shunted to ground by the spring loaded metal piece
(bottom left corner). The tuned input circuits are shown in
the top left corner.
