The 75S-3C is considered
by some to be the finest receiver manufactured by Collins Radio.
This unit is a early series as indicated by the absence of the
cover over the filter section. In fact, this is an addition
made by Dennis Brothers when he restored this receiver to better
than factory specifications
(look here). I removed the cover to allow a view of the
filters. The 75S-3C includes the additional Crystal bank that
provides for almost general coverage. The additional Crystals
have not been added (Blue area -top view). This receiver supports
4 filter positions with only 3 switched on the front panel.
The additional filter position is marked "spare". This receiver
compares favorably with the ICOM 781 and Yaesu 1000D.
